Hello, I’m Ingrid
For as long as I can remember I’ve loved making things and solving practical problems. My parents encouraged me to do hands-on projects and taught me sewing and woodwork. I remember making paper dolls with a friend, and using my mum’s sewing machine to decorate a skirt with big, colourful flowers. I also enjoyed spending time in my dad’s woodworking shop, which smelled of sawdust, and where every tool and nail had its own place.
My curiosity meant I gravitated towards puzzles and detective books that taught me how to write secret messages in invisible ink and how to make a kaleidoscope. Throughout my life I’ve been passionate about finding solutions by combining function and aesthetics, and this drew me to design.
My background
My passion for creativity brought me to the UK where I studied graphic design in Leeds and Edinburgh. My career began in Scottish agencies with clients in healthcare and consumer goods, where I worked on branding, infographics and packaging design. I learned to simplify complex information and create paper prototypes for elaborate print design.
I returned to Norway and gained valuable experience working for both a global biopharma company and a scale-up. I was part of teams that developed e-learning, a digital music service, and custom content design. I honed my skills in cross-disciplinary collaboration, brand building and user-centred design.
In my role as Lead designer at ACX Music (a creative technology scale-up) I championed design in the company; as Line manager I mentored designers and content creators by encouraging personal growth and streamlining ways of working.
What I enjoy
I’m happiest when I’m collaborating. I love to see projects develop and teams mature when everyone shares their knowledge and ideas. Well-functioning teams really are something special.
I believe systems thinking is an integral part of a great work culture. After implementing solid systems for professional teams I have experienced many benefits on brand building, collaborating and onboarding.
I’m curious and I enjoy learning new things, so my comfort zone is always expanding in different ways. I’ve taken online courses in UX and design thinking as I’m fascinated by the wider context of design. I’m keen to combine this with my experience in visual design to create products and services people actually want to use.
I believe in the power of design in bringing people together. I love how it can help people communicate, simplify tasks and solve problems. And I believe that well-considered design adds beauty and enjoyment to our everyday lives.

When I’m not working
I love making things outside of work as well, and often have craft projects going. When my daughter was diagnosed with coeliacs disease I developed a passion for baking. I wanted to bring a smile to her face with wonderful gluten-free cakes. I’m a real film nerd and love watching and reading all about it. And I enjoy capturing the beauty and humour of everyday life with my camera.
